The Symposium on Women’s Health, Pregnancy and Perinatal Care is an academic space aimed at promoting the updating and exchange of knowledge on the main challenges and advances in women’s health, maternal-fetal care and care during the perinatal period. Its purpose is to strengthen a comprehensive, woman-centered vision of care that also encompasses the newborn, the family and early development.
The thematic lines include maternal and fetal health, addressing strategies for the prevention, diagnosis and management of conditions affecting the well-being of the mother and fetus during pregnancy. Likewise, the relationship between sleep and women’s health will be explored, highlighting its influence on physical, mental and reproductive health throughout the life cycle.
The symposium will also address key aspects of perinatal and neonatal health, including evidence-based practices to optimize maternal and neonatal outcomes. Family-centered care models that foster active family participation and strengthen protective environments for mothers, children and caregivers will be discussed.
Additionally, strategies for preventing child abuse and violence against women will be analyzed, as well as the challenges associated with new forms of motherhood, recognizing the social, cultural and demographic changes transforming the experience of parenting. Finally, the importance of early development and the first years of life will be reviewed as a fundamental stage for future health, learning and well-being.
This meeting seeks to promote innovative and interdisciplinary approaches that contribute to improving the health and quality of life of women, children and their families.
