EDUCATION AND HUMAN RIGHTS FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
RATIONALE
Contemporary global transformations are marked by the contradiction between accelerated scientific-technological advancement and the profound deterioration of planetary ecosystems. Faced with this scenario, universities, as centers of knowledge generation, take on the commitment to provide comprehensive solutions. Within this framework, the Multidisciplinary Research Center in Education (CIME) participates in the 59th Congress Tradition and Innovation: The Memories of the Americas with a symposium arising from its Doctoral Program in Studies for Human Development and its Master’s Program in Socioplanetary Sciences of Human Development.
OBJECTIVE
To reflect on the contribution of higher education to building a sustainable future, grounded in the international human rights framework.
