MODEL OF SUSTAINABLE AND CIRCULAR TOURISM ENTREPRENEURSHIP: TERRITORIAL APPROACH AND REGENERATION OF RURAL HERITAGE (CULTURAL AND NATURAL)
This symposium proposes to analyze the structure of a sustainable tourism entrepreneurship model grounded in the pillars of the circular economy, a territorial approach, and destination regeneration. This space for discussion addresses the problem of conventional, extractive-type tourism, which has operated under a linear logic that generates ecosystem pressures, deteriorates local identity, and leads to the exclusion of actors in rural territories. Based on the presentation of a multiple case study developed in municipalities of Antioquia (Santo Domingo, Alejandría, Guarne, Marinilla, San Vicente de Ferrer and San Roque), the symposium seeks to articulate economic diversification with the valorization, protection and revitalization of cultural and natural heritage. It will show how the integration of circular dynamics into rural microenterprise makes it possible to transform local by-products into new high-value services, enhancing the culture, historical memory and ecosystem wealth of the territories. The academic dialogue will focus on the need to move toward processes of adaptive innovation, promoting the socio-productive inclusion of communities so that tourism transcends the mere provision of services and becomes a driver of collective well-being and territorial regeneration. Finally, the panel will propose methodologies and impact-indicator systems adjusted to local realities, facilitating the design of public policies that ensure community governance, the conservation of heritage landscapes, and compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals.
