This symposium sets out to explore the less examined dimensions of the political movements and regimes that reshaped the Hispanic world between the 1930s and the 1950s. Starting from the genesis of fascism in Italy and its early mimicry and adaptation in Spain, the analysis extends to the circulation of ideas, publications, and aesthetic and doctrinal influences in Spanish America.
\nThe rise and consolidation of Francoism not only altered the political map of the Iberian Peninsula but also generated a massive exile whose intellectual imprint was decisive for the culture of the host nations. Within this web of transatlantic influences, Peronism emerges as a singular manifestation of power with dialectical roots in both fascism and Francoism, projecting its continued relevance even through the political activity of its leader during exile.
\nThe central aim is to contribute new elements — based on archives, literary sources and historiographical material — that allow for a deep understanding of these phenomena. Although chronologically distant, their traces and resonances in contemporary political discourse underscore the need to revisit these historical links using new methods of analysis.
