Education, as a human right, constitutes a continuous process that spans diverse and differentiated aspects, requiring reflections that are not limited to a single field of knowledge, but increasingly demand dialogue among various fields of knowledge to address the challenges related to its promotion.
\nFurthermore, the human right to education is related to the implementation and promotion of other rights, including health, freedom of expression and thought, a healthy environment, diversity, work and leisure, privacy, among others.
\nIn this sense, the symposium aims to include theoretical and empirical research that articulates education and human rights from an interdisciplinary and broad perspective, so that the approaches encompass the various aspects that permeate these central reference points\u2014education and human rights. Accordingly, the symposium seeks research related to any of the following axes:
\na) Education, digital technologies\u2014encompasses the positive and\/or negative influences that digital technologies can generate for and within educational processes, the information, media and digital literacies needed in environments of digital disinformation, which can make individuals resilient to disinformation and hate speech and lead them to informed decisions in various spheres of life. This axis also includes socio-digital inclusion, the use of digital social networks and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education, as well as public policies related to media and digital education.
\nb) Education, science, and traditional knowledges and forms of knowledge\u2014refers to the various dialogues that education can foster between science and the traditional and ancestral knowledges of indigenous, quilombola and other populations, demonstrating that the relationship between them is not one of exclusion but of complementarity. The aim is to include other epistemologies in dialogue with new technological rationalities, bringing counter-colonial perspectives that can, within Education, unite experiences of other forms of scientificity and transdisciplinarity, as well as ways of dealing with aspects of life such as health.
\nc) Education, the promotion of human rights, and Democracy\u2014how, within a scenario marked by threats to democracy, the emancipatory educational process, aimed at forming citizens, can help mitigate this situation. The preservation of democracy is directly related to education with and through human rights, in order to form citizens prepared to, while understanding the importance of democratic achievements, act consciously and critically through creative curiosity.
\nd) Education and Youth
\nThis axis aims to discuss the various themes related to education, particularly with regard to youth. Special emphasis is placed on legal issues, including the emergence of legislation specifically related to children and young people, such as the Brazilian law known as the Digital ECA (Law No. 15,211, of September 17, 2025).
