This symposium proposes to disseminate, reflect on, and share experiences and actions in research, teaching and outreach carried out within Latin American universities aimed at denaturalizing everyday university life and confronting violence against women. We understand that human rights are grounded in a paradigm shift regarding what has been considered human (Krenak, 2019), recognizing multiple social subjects, their ways of life, and their sexual orientations. We also understand that social democratization is an ongoing civilizational project (Jovchelovitch, 2008) in a world where the capitalist economic system challenges democratic principles and leads us to question what we aspire to as a human social collective. Within this economic, political and social scenario, the university also finds itself reviewing its paradigms, which is why we present this Symposium proposal. We wish to share knowledges, challenges, ways of living, practices, research, and forms of teaching and outreach oriented toward denaturalizing the multiple faces of violence against women. Above all, by unveiling the patriarchal principles of white supremacy (hooks, 2019) that legitimize the persistence of violence in academic contexts. We aim to reflect on the interconnection between racism and sexism in these forms of violence, drawing on shared experiences developed by Latin American universities, and thus contribute to strengthening actions toward establishing an inter-institutional network for the protection of women.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","simposio_area":[53],"class_list":["post-10524","simposio","type-simposio","status-publish","hentry","simposio_area-educacion"],"yoast_head":"\n
