TODAY, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE HAS BECOME A CENTRAL REFERENCE POINT FOR INNOVATION, BUT ITS IMPACT MUST BE ANALYZED IN RELATION TO OTHER DEVELOPMENTS SUCH AS BIOTECHNOLOGY, DIGITALIZATION, ROBOTICS, NANOTECHNOLOGY AND BIG DATA PLATFORMS. THIS SYMPOSIUM SEEKS TO EXPLORE THE INTERACTIONS BETWEEN THESE FIELDS AND SOCIETY, HIGHLIGHTING HOW THEY SHAPE NEW DYNAMICS OF POWER, KNOWLEDGE AND INEQUALITY.<\/p>\n<p>THE OBJECTIVE IS TO OPEN A SPACE FOR INTERDISCIPLINARY DIALOGUE THAT EXAMINES HOW EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES RECONFIGURE EVERYDAY LIFE, EDUCATION, HEALTH, WORK AND POLITICS. TOPICS SUCH AS THE GOVERNANCE OF INNOVATION, THE ETHICAL DILEMMAS ASSOCIATED WITH THE USE OF ALGORITHMS AND BIOTECHNOLOGIES, THE UNEQUAL APPROPRIATION OF TECHNOLOGICAL RESOURCES, AND THE TENSIONS BETWEEN LOCAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERT KNOWLEDGE WILL BE DISCUSSED. EMPHASIS WILL ALSO BE PLACED ON THE LATIN AMERICAN CONTEXT, WHERE SOCIOTECHNICAL TRANSFORMATIONS ARE INTERTWINED WITH HISTORICAL PROCESSES OF INEQUALITY AND THE PURSUIT OF DEVELOPMENT.<\/p>\n<p>THE SYMPOSIUM WILL BRING TOGETHER THEORETICAL CONTRIBUTIONS AND EMPIRICAL STUDIES THAT HELP UNDERSTAND HOW ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, TOGETHER WITH OTHER TECHNOLOGIES, ACTS AS A CATALYST FOR BROADER SOCIAL CHANGE.
